Theory and simulation of electroosmotic suppression of acoustic streaming

چکیده
Acoustic handling of nanoparticles in resonating acoustofluidic devices is often impeded by the presence acoustic streaming. For micrometer-sized chambers, this streaming typically driven viscous shear thin boundary layer near fluid-solid interface. Alternating current (ac) electroosmosis another boundary-driven phenomenon routinely used microfluidic for particle suspensions electrolytes. Here, we study how can be suppressed combining ultrasound acoustics and ac electroosmosis. Based on a theoretical analysis electrokinetic problem, are able to compute numerically form electrical potential at interface, which suitable suppressing typical pattern associated with standing half-wave. In linear regime, even derive an analytical expression electroosmotic slip velocity interface use as guiding principle developing models experimentally more relevant nonlinear regime that occurs elevated driving voltages.
